Holy Name High
School for Girls was affiliated with Holy Name Parish Church
in what is known as both Windsor Terrace and Prospect Park. The
high school was founded by Monsignor Charles Vitta in 1925 and
offered a commercial course of study. In 1928, Diocesan officials
asked Monsignor Vitta to close Holy Name High School and instructed
the girls to enroll at the newly opened Bishop McDonnell Memorial
High School.
